LOL! This article is a very simplified idea of "communal" living, but I found it really interesting that even mainstream MSN.com is starting to address some realities of what is to come. Perhaps sharing (gasp, gasp) is a good way to make through rough times . . . if they come in the golden years or even before. These good ideas about spreading out shelter, food, & transport costs amongst a group are wonderful not only for the pocket-books of the whole, but also for impact on the Earth. I think it is hilarious that this is treated as a "crazy, but it just might work" alternative. This is a simple & very basic way to survive . . . well, to survive well. Why is it that people are so stuck on "me as a rock, an island" that they are unable to get w/ their fellow human beings & create happy lives this way?
