Since I will not be able to pay for the board renewal for a week or so, be prepared for ads next week until I get the money together.

I'm totally ignorant of what the cost is for running a board...how expensive is this, and do you normally get enough donations to cover it, or are you
picking up all the expenses? Are board fees due yearly, or more often?

Right now we are not paying anything; we are getting "Free Gold"service with a few ads. I used to pay for the board to keep it ad free, but back
then the ads were very intrusive, unlike the ones now. If the ads ever get intrusive again, we can all debate whether or not to have a paid account. Until
then, i think we are ok.

I recommend using the adblock plus extension for firefox. I actually can't see any of the ads so I had thought the board was paid for.

Yes, the ads here aren't too bad. I used to be on a board that had very intrusive ads that we called "floaties". They would pop up and float
around, and you would have to chase after them to delete them. But since they would bob around, you could miss and click on the ad itself and open up another
window. Ugh! It was driving us all crazy.
