Hey Everyone,
I'm currently feeling like I'm wasting what precious time I have to prepare for "TEOTWAWKI" and in general just feeling like I'm living a pretty boring life here in North Carolina, where I just came to about three weeks ago. I'd really like to get way the hell away from my family for a while and possibly return, but right now I cant deal with the negative opposition to everything I believe in when I need to learn some down - to - earth skills and live a day to day life true to my intention, so as to be prepared for the changes ahead, and well, fuck, JUST ENJOY LIFE ALOT MORE (beyond all the apocalypse preparation bullshit). I'd also just like to meet new people who are on the same sort of anti - civ wavelength as all of you who patron this site and generally know whats up.
It seems to me that at least for now, the Northwest is the epicenter of change and creativity and people "who get it" in regards to this shit, and I've had my eye set on it for a long time. I'd really like to find a situation on an off - the - grid type location with forest gardening, permaculture, natural building, all that good stuff... going on, and hopefully with room, board and a modest stipend to cover expenses.
I'm not averse to staying long term, but I'd definately want to be out there for at least this next full season. The only place I've come across that really seems to match what I described in my preliminary searching is the "Mountain Home" off - the - grid ranch in Coquille, OR. I'm gonna bet alot of you hail from Cascadia, and I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give and any contacts you know. If I'm going to do this I know I've got to get on it pronto, so I'm pretty flexible as far as the options. Hope to hear from you all soon. Much thanks.
