Hmmm.
So, with birds, there's influenza. More control... With cattle, there's "mad cow." But we all know about that. Even among game meats, there's this thing called "Chronic Wasting Disease" spreading among animals of the deer family. I wonder if the government is gonna find a way to use that as an excuse for control. With fish, there is mecury, PCBs, and other contaminants... |

The legislation setting up the Bird Flu response is not covered by the Freedom of Information Act. They can do as they please with no accountability. I wonder what shenanigans they will pull with this one.
There is a move afoot by the Agriculture department to require all farm animals to be chipped at enormous cost. The chipping applies to small home herds and flocks. Its affect will be to make it next to impossible for a small holder to have a small flock of chickens. Yes, the made up hysteria over Bird Flu is just one more avenue to control. As for Mad Cow, testing will find that it is already in this country, there is some suggestion that CWD is similar to BSE (Mad Cow). Chipping will do nothing more than drive small holders out and further increase the power and size of the government. |
